Alone we go so far, together we can go even farther
No life is without it’s share of troubles, yet with the right kind of support, you can learn how to weather the storms of life and get back to creating a life you can enjoy. We will sit and talk about the new and familiar problems that you’re dealing with together because you know what has been happening in your life and are the expert on your experience. What we get stuck in alone can make us feel overtaken in, yet when we have someone helping us understand what’s happening to us, we can often get a fresh perspective on our problem. The challenge can start to look so different. The world can often seem less scary and it can become possible to gain new strength and become more clear to take a new direction. We need to talk about what has been happening to you before we create a plan to work through it. And at the same time it can seem like a waste of words to do that.
A part of you may already know that coming here can be helpful and that your words for once could really matter, the other may still want to be reassured of that. I can assure you that you are worth fighting for and your words and experience just as you’d prefer to tell them to me, will be acknowledged. You won’t be just another client.
Looking through social media and all the photo buzz or thinking about your age and stage in life have you wondering if you’ve missed your chance. You feel left behind. Alone. Aimless. Unclear. Unmotivated. Some days you feel like you’re so behind you’ll never catch up to who you were meant to be and on others you feel better off than some. But that’s just not enough.
You find yourself constantly thinking about what your next move is going to be. You become convinced at times that you’re the only one feeling lost, off track and alone. That feels very true. And even though you’ve had a pretty tough time making sense of how to approach your life at this point, you know you need to find your answers and your rhythm to get into a new season of life. You know yourself as someone who doesn’t give up.
You’re ready to really grow into your own. And you know you need someone who can really listen to what you have been experiencing without making it about them or giving you another positive pep talk, thumbs up, or totally dismissing your experience altogether. You desperately need someone in your corner, wanting to hear what you need and help you find understanding and real solutions
All the positive talk and motivation you’ve had still leaves you feeling empty, without direction, and in need of healing from years of being without emotional support. It really didn’t hit you until now, now that you’ve looked in the mirror and see the exhaustion and the weariness that has set in. It’s been with you for a while.
All of us need help pushing through to the other side of life’s storms. Support can make a big difference.
Maybe this would be your first time coming to therapy or maybe you’ve been before and had an experience you’d like to forget. You’ve found yourself so unsure of what to do and trying to find the right place to talk about your life and .without feeling like what you’ll get in return is a request to put a positive spin on things, without feeling like you’re wasting your time or talking with a therapist that you feel is leaving you to figure out your life with an occasional nod or ummmm to let you know you’re heard has been a worry. You don;t have to worry about that here.
You will be listened to, and you i’ll get a chance to know what can become possible in your life as a result of our work together. You are ready to get on the road to work to feeling more secure. Steady. Clear. You want to feel like you can finally start having some wins. Let me help you get there.
In all honesty, therapy may be slower than you would like. It all depends on what you have been through and how we need to move through your life. It’s not a good idea to rush through our work together or to fasttrack it to move things along. And if I think seeing an outside specialist can be helpful or going to a group to compliment our work, I will give you my recommendation. It is only a recommendation. You decide what you would like to do.
There are many options to take in our work together. We will look through them together and you ultimately decide what outside resource feels most helpful to you. And then again, you may not need a recommendation at all. I will be sure to offer my best suggestions. As you stick with the work we are doing and keep putting in the effort, there is a possibility for a good outcome. Research shows that those who stay with this kind of work generally yield the best results. I’ll be right there as you work to conquer what’s been troubling and coming between you..
Is this the direction you would like to feel more inspired to pursue? More empowered and encouraged to work toward making a greater life realized? It is possible.
